Leif Enger

Leif Enger is an American author born in 1961 in Osakis, Minnesota, where he was raised by teacher parents before studying English and mass communication at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He worked as a reporter and producer for Minnesota Public Radio for nearly twenty years prior to his debut novel Peace Like a River (2001), a bestseller praised by Time Magazine and the Los Angeles Times. His subsequent novels include So Brave, Young, and Handsome (2008), Virgil Wander (2018), and I Cheerfully Refuse (2024); he lives with his wife in Duluth, Minnesota.
