Lawrence Block
Lawrence Block is an acclaimed American crime writer, best known for his long-running series featuring the recovering alcoholic private investigator Matthew Scudder and the gentleman burglar Bernie Rhodenbarr. Born in Buffalo, New York, on June 24, 1938, he has published over 100 books in mystery, suspense, and crime fiction across more than half a century, earning numerous awards including Grand Master from the Mystery Writers of America. Block attended Antioch College but left to pursue writing, and he resides in New York City with his wife.
