Laurie Moore
Lorrie Moore (born Marie Lorena Moore on January 13, 1957) is an acclaimed American writer, critic, and essayist best known for her award-winning short stories and novels such as Birds of America and Anagrams. She has taught creative writing and English at the University of Wisconsin–Madison since 1984 and holds the Delmore Schwartz Professorship in the Humanities. Her fiction often explores postmodern women's lives, the absurdity of everyday existence, and the limitations of language, blending humor with pathos.
