Laurie Magnus

Sir Laurie Magnus CBE is a British financier and public servant with over 45 years of experience in corporate finance, specializing in mergers, acquisitions, fundraising, and restructuring, starting his career at Samuel Montagu & Co.[1][3] He has held prominent roles including Chair of Historic England from 2013 to 2023, Deputy Chairman of the National Trust from 2005 to 2013, and currently serves as the Prime Minister’s Independent Adviser on Ministerial Standards since 2022.[1][2] Educated at Eton College and the University of Oxford, he is the 3rd Baronet of Tangley Hill, inherited in 1988, and was made a CBE in 2022 for services to heritage.[2][5]
