Laurence Parent

Laurence Parent was born in New Mexico and raised in several southwestern states, primarily New Mexico. After earning a petroleum engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981, he worked as an engineer for six years before becoming a full-time freelance photographer and writer specializing in landscape, travel, nature, hiking, true crime, and history. He has authored or photographed dozens of books, including bestsellers like Hiking Texas and Hiking New Mexico.[1][2][4]
