Lauren Carruth

Lauren Carruth is a medical anthropologist and associate professor at American University’s School of International Service, where she focuses on humanitarian assistance, global health, nutrition, displacement, migration, and the Horn of Africa. Her scholarship examines labor and inequity in humanitarian work, food and medical insecurity, and related health issues, and she is the author of Love and Liberation: Humanitarian Work in Ethiopia’s Somali Region.
