Laura Purdie

Laura Purdie Salas is an award-winning author of more than 125 books for children, including poetry and nonfiction such as *Snowman – Cold = Puddle: Spring Equations* and *Lion of the Sky: Haiku for All Seasons*, which have earned honors like Bank Street Best Books and Minnesota Book Awards.[1][4] A former magazine editor, 8th-grade English teacher, and freelance writer, she grew up in Florida, attended kindergarten there, and now lives in Minnesota.[1][2][3] She is a visiting author, storytime presenter, writing teacher, and prolific poet who draws inspiration from daily life.[5][6]
