Larry Gonick
Larry Gonick is an American cartoonist, author, and mathematician best known for his 'Cartoon History' series, including The Cartoon History of the Universe, published in installments from 1977 to 2009, and The Cartoon Guide to Genetics from 1983.[1][2] Born in San Francisco and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, he earned a BA summa cum laude and MA in mathematics from Harvard before leaving graduate school amid the upheavals of the late 1960s to pursue political cartooning and educational comics.[1][2] He has authored or co-authored numerous books on science, history, and mathematics, earning awards like the Harvey and Eisner Awards.[3][4]
