Lane Smith (Author, Illustrator)

Lane Smith is an acclaimed American illustrator and children's book author born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1959. He is best known for his collaborations with author Jon Scieszka on books like The Stinky Cheese Man and The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs, as well as for writing and illustrating his own works including It's a Book and Grandpa Green. His innovative visual style and eclectic approach to children's literature have earned him numerous awards including Caldecott Honors, the Kate Greenaway Medal, and the Society of Illustrators Lifetime Achievement Award.
