L. W. Johnson

Lyndon B. Johnson, often known as LBJ, was an American politician who served as the 36th President of the United States from 1963 to 1969 after succeeding John F. Kennedy following his assassination. Born in central Texas, he rose through Congress, becoming Senate Majority Leader, and as president launched the Great Society programs, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965, though his legacy was complicated by the Vietnam War.[1][3][6]
