L Frank Baum

L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) was an American author, journalist, and playwright best known for his children's fantasy series, particularly The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900), which became a classic of children's literature. After early careers in breeding, acting, sales, and journalism, his first bestseller was Father Goose, His Book (1899), followed by 13 Oz sequels. His imaginative stories inspired numerous adaptations, including the iconic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.
