L E Modesitt, Jr.

L. E. (Leland Exton) Modesitt Jr., born in 1943 in Denver, Colorado, is an American science fiction and fantasy author known for writing over 80 novels, including the bestselling fantasy series The Saga of Recluce.[1][3] Before focusing on writing, he held diverse careers such as U.S. Navy pilot, legislative assistant, and EPA director, and he currently resides in Cedar City, Utah.[2][4][5]
