Krassimir T Atanassov
Krassimir Todorov Atanassov is a Bulgarian mathematician born on 23 March 1954 in Burgas, renowned for introducing the concepts of intuitionistic fuzzy sets and generalized nets, extensions of fuzzy sets and Petri nets, respectively.[1][2] He earned his PhD in 1986, Doctor of Technical Sciences in 1997, and Doctor of Mathematical Sciences in 2000, and has been a Full Professor at the Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, since 1998, becoming an Academician in 2021.[3][2] His research spans fuzzy sets, Petri nets, number theory, and applications in AI, medicine, economics, with over 700 journal papers and 35 books.[3][8]
