Kim Roman

Roman Nikolaevich Kim (1897-1967) was a Soviet writer, scholar-orientalist, and literary translator whose books were published in over one million copies in the USSR and continue to be issued in Russia. He introduced Japanese author Ryunosuke Akutagawa to Russian readers, authored scholarly works, and served as an interpreter for Nikita Khrushchev. Known as 'the ninja from the Lubyanka' due to his mysterious background, he was born in Vladivostok and died in Moscow.
