Kevin Price Phillips was an American writer and political commentator known for analyses of politics, economics, and history. He first rose to prominence as a Republican strategist associated with the Southern Strategy, later became an independent critic of the Republican Party, and wrote and commented widely for outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, Harper's Magazine, NPR, and PBS.[1][3][4]
