Kevin Bell

The Hon. Kevin Bell AO KC is an Australian author, former judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria, and professor who grew up in social housing in Melbourne's Moorabbin suburb. He graduated in Arts and Law from Monash University, worked at the Tenants Union of Victoria and as a barrister specializing in housing law, and later focused on human rights, particularly the right to housing and home, through his judicial and academic roles. He has served as director of the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law and commissioner of the Yoorrook Justice Commission, and is the author of 'Housing: The Great Australian Right.'
