Kenneth Mather

Sir Kenneth Mather (1911–1990) was a distinguished British geneticist and botanist who served as the second vice chancellor of the University of Southampton from 1965 to 1971. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1949, received its Darwin Medal in 1964, and was knighted in 1979 for his contributions to cytology and genetics. Mather authored over 280 scientific papers and 11 books, many of which remain classics in the field of biometrical genetics.
