Kenneth Grahame

Kenneth Grahame was a Scottish-born British author best known for his classic children's book The Wind in the Willows (1908), featuring anthropomorphic animal characters like Mole, Rat, Badger, and Toad. Orphaned young after his mother's death from scarlet fever, he was raised by his grandmother in England, worked at the Bank of England, and published earlier works including Pagan Papers (1893), The Golden Age (1895), and Dream Days (1898) that showcased his understanding of childhood.[1][2][3]
