Ken Smith
Ken Smith was a British poet born in Rudston, East Yorkshire, in 1938. He studied English at the University of Leeds, co-edited the literary journal Stand, and became known for poetry and nonfiction that explored human behavior, prison life, and social conflict. His debut collection, The Pity, appeared in 1967, and he remained an influential figure in modern British poetry until his death in 2003.
