Katie Lee
Katie Lee (born Kathryn Louise Lee on October 23, 1919, in Aledo, Illinois) was a prominent American singer, songwriter, author, environmentalist, river runner, and Western historian known for her work documenting the culture of the American Southwest, particularly Glen Canyon before its flooding by Lake Powell. She authored several books including 'Glen Canyon Betrayed,' 'Sandstone Seduction,' and 'The Ghosts of Dandy Crossing,' and was a passionate advocate against the destruction of natural landscapes. Lee passed away on November 1, 2017, shortly after her 98th birthday.
