Kathy-jo Wargin is a bestselling author of over fifty books for adults and children, specializing in the natural beauty, Native American legends, and history of the Great Lakes region, with award-winning titles like Michigan’s Official State Children’s Book *The Legend of Sleeping Bear* and *The Legend of the Loon*.[1][2][4] Born in Tower, Minnesota, in 1964 or 1965, she studied music at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, co-owns The Wargin Company with her husband photographer Ed Wargin, and resides in Rochester, Minnesota.[1][2][3] Throughout her thirty-year career, she has served as a publisher, editor, consultant, and public speaker focused on creativity, the environment, health, and wellness.[2][3]
