Kathryn Johnson

Kathryn Johnson is a Tasmanian writer and author of four novels including Paris Savages, Matryoshka, The Better Son, and Pescador’s Wake. Paris Savages, based on the true story of ‘human zoos’ in Europe in the late nineteenth century, was shortlisted for the ABIA awards and named The Times Historical Fiction Book of the Month in June 2020. Her works often explore historical themes, secrets, and human experiences in settings like Tasmania’s caves and the Southern Ocean.
