Katherine MacFarlane
Katherine A. Macfarlane is a Professor of Law at Syracuse University College of Law, where she directs the Disability Law and Policy Program and teaches courses in civil rights litigation, constitutional law, and disability law. A leading expert in civil procedure, civil rights, and disability law, she is also a Senior Fellow at the Burton Blatt Institute and has previously taught at the University of Idaho and Louisiana State University. Born in Toronto, Canada, she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 1, which inspired her advocacy for disability rights; she holds a B.A. magna cum laude from Northwestern University and a J.D. cum laude from Loyola Law School.
