Katherine J. Chen
Katherine J. Chen is an award-winning author known for her novels *Joan: A Novel of Joan of Arc*, which won the 2023 American Library in Paris Book Award and has been translated into nine languages, and *Mary B*, a retelling of Mary Bennet from Jane Austen's *Pride and Prejudice*. A graduate of Princeton University (class of 2012) and Boston University's MFA program in Fiction, where she received the Florence Engel Randall Fiction Prize, she is currently a doctoral student in English at Brown University, focusing on fin de siècle literature and Henry James. Her essays and reviews have appeared in publications including *The New York Times*, *The Wall Street Journal*, and *The Los Angeles Review of Books*.[1][2][5][6]
