Kate Millett

Kate Millett (1934-2017) was an American feminist writer, artist, and activist best known for her groundbreaking 1970 work 'Sexual Politics,' which analyzed patriarchal structures in society and became a seminal text in feminist theory. She was a multifaceted intellectual who also worked as a sculptor, filmmaker, and human rights advocate, founding the Women's Art Colony in LaGrange, New York in 1978 and championing the rights of women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and marginalized communities throughout her life.
