KASDAN-SAXTON
Alexander Plaisted Saxton (1919–2012) was an American historian, novelist, and university professor renowned for his pioneering work in Asian American studies. He authored the foundational text *Indispensable Enemy* (1975), one of the first monographs in Asian American history, and was a founding figure at the UCLA Asian American Studies Center, where he developed innovative courses on Filipino-American history and film and history.
