Karl Rahner

Karl Rahner (1904–1984) was a German Jesuit priest and theologian widely regarded as one of the most influential Catholic theologians of the 20th century. He is best known for his work in Christology and for integrating existential philosophy with Thomistic realism to explain human self-transcendence in relation to God. Rahner played a significant role as an expert advisor in the preparation and execution of the Second Vatican Council.
