Karen Melvin

Karen Melvin is a historian and professor of history at Bates College, specializing in colonial Latin America and global Catholicism. She is the author of *Building Colonial Cities of God* and co-editor of *Imagining Histories of Colonial Latin America*, and she leads the 'Reading the Inquisition' project, an online collection of transcribed and translated Inquisition cases.
