Karen E. Wohlwend

Karen E. Wohlwend is a Professor of Literacy, Culture, and Language Education at Indiana University School of Education in Bloomington, Indiana.[1][2][3] She earned her Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Culture from the University of Iowa, with a dissertation on kindergarten literacy practices, and holds M.A. and B.A. degrees in Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Iowa.[1] Her research focuses on young children's play as embodied literacy, including action texts with toys, bodies, video games, and animation apps, employing methods like nexus analysis and mediated discourse analysis.[2][4]
