Kapil Kapoor

Kapil Kapoor is an Indian scholar of history, linguistics, and literature, and an authority on Indian intellectual traditions. He served as Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) from 1999-2002 and was a professor at the Centre for Linguistics and English and Centre for Sanskrit Studies before retiring in 2005. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the 11-Volume Encyclopedia of Hinduism and has been a prolific writer on Indian Knowledge Systems for over six decades.
