K.G. Karmakar is an Indian author and scholar specializing in rural development and micro-finance. He authored the book 'Rural Credit and Self-Help Groups: Micro-finance Needs and Concepts in India,' published by Sage Publications in 1999, which explores micro-finance concepts and needs in the Indian context. The work received a review in the Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Emerging Economies in 2001.
