K Adlard Coles

K. Adlard Coles was a renowned British sailor, author, and publisher who founded Adlard Coles Ltd and the Nautical Publishing Company, specializing in nautical books.[2] He was one of the most highly regarded figures in ocean sailing and received the Institute's Gold Medal in 1971 for his lifetime services to the navigation of small craft.[2] Coles wrote influential works such as 'Heavy Weather Sailing' and his autobiography 'Sailing Years,' published in 1981.[3][5]
