Justin B. Dimick
Justin B. Dimick, MD, MPH, is the Frederick A. Coller Distinguished Professor of Surgery and Chair of the Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan. A graduate of Cornell University (BA in Biology, 1995) and Johns Hopkins University (MD, 2000), he completed his MPH at Dartmouth Medical School (2005), surgical residency at Michigan Medicine, and a health services research fellowship at the Dartmouth Institute. His research focuses on performance measurement, quality improvement, and policy evaluation in surgery, with seminal contributions including studies on ICU staffing and reduced mortality, and he holds leadership roles such as past President of the Association for Academic Surgery.
