Julie Baumgold

Julie Baumgold is an American writer, essayist, and poet known for her contributions to magazines including New York, Esquire, and Vogue, where she served as a contributing editor and columnist. She won the Mademoiselle Poetry Prize and was featured in Best American Essays 1996. Her notable books include Creatures of Habit (1993) and The Diamond (2005), a historical novel tracing the journey of the Regent diamond from India to Napoleon.
