Judy Jones
Judith Jones (1924-2017) was a legendary American editor at Doubleday and Alfred A. Knopf, renowned for discovering Anne Frank's diary from the slush pile and championing culinary icons like Julia Child, James Beard, Edna Lewis, and Madhur Jaffrey, while also editing literary giants such as Sylvia Plath, John Updike, and Anne Tyler. She played a pivotal role in the cookbook revolution and cultural shifts from post-WWII through the civil rights era. Later in life, she retired to Vermont, authored cookbooks including ones co-written with her husband Evan Jones, and raised grass-fed cattle until her death from Alzheimer's complications.
