Jud W. Gurney
Jud W. Gurney, MD, was a renowned pulmonary radiologist, educator, clinician, researcher, and mentor who joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) faculty in 1989 as an assistant professor, rising to associate professor in 1991, and later holding the Charles A. Dobry Professorship of Radiology after returning from Mayo Clinic in 2002.[1][2] He authored works such as 'Pocket Radiologist: Chest: Top 100 Diagnoses' and was recognized nationally and internationally for his contributions to radiology.[7][1] Gurney passed away at age 55 in March 2010 after battling stomach cancer.[1][4]
