JS Bamberger

Jeanne Bamberger (née Shapiro) was an American music educator, Professor Emerita of Music and Urban Education at MIT, where she taught music theory and cognition from 1971 to 2005, and Adjunct Professor of Music at UC Berkeley. A student of pianist Artur Schnabel and theorists Ernst Krenek and Roger Sessions, she performed as a soloist and chamber musician while researching music cognitive development, teacher training, and educational software design. Her notable publications include 'The Mind Behind the Musical Ear' (1995) and 'Developing Musical Intuitions' (2000).[1][2]
