Joyce Newman Giger EdD RN APRN BC FAAN
Joyce Newman Giger, EdD, APRN-BC, FAAN, was a pioneering nurse leader, educator, and researcher known for her work in transcultural nursing and health equity. She was the first African American tenured professor in the history of the UCLA School of Nursing and co-developed the Giger and Davidhizar Transcultural Assessment Model, which influenced culturally competent care in nursing.
