Joy Ladin

Joy Ladin is an American poet, memoirist, and professor at Yeshiva University, renowned for her groundbreaking work in transgender theology and her memoir 'Through the Door of Life' detailing her gender transition within an Orthodox Jewish institution. She is the first openly transgender professor at an Orthodox Jewish college and holds the David and Ruth Gottesman Chair in English at Stern College for Women. Ladin has authored numerous books of poetry and critical studies, earning awards and recognition as a leading voice on trans and Jewish identity.
