Joy Cowley
Joy Cowley, born Cassia Joy Summers on August 7, 1936, in Levin, New Zealand, is a prolific and celebrated New Zealand author best known for her children's fiction, including the popular Mrs. Wishy-Washy series[1][2]. She has written over 1,100 books sold to more than 40 million readers worldwide, contributing significantly to both children's and adult literature[8][7]. Cowley holds numerous honors, including ONZ, DCNZM, and OBE, and is internationally recognized for her promotion of reading[1][9].
