Joshua M. Bennett

Joshua M. Bennett is an American author, professor, and artist who serves as a Professor of Literature and Distinguished Chair of Humanities at MIT. He is a celebrated poet and literary critic known for works such as 'The Sobbing School' and 'Being Property Once Myself,' and his research spans African American literature, animality studies, and affect theory. Bennett is also a Guggenheim Fellow and Whiting Award winner who actively contributes to spoken-word poetry and cultural history.
