Joseph Mitsuo Kitagawa

Joseph Mitsuo Kitagawa (1915–1992) was a Japanese American scholar of religious studies and a professor and dean at the University of Chicago Divinity School. He is regarded as one of the founders of the history of religions field and was known for his work on Asian religious traditions and intercultural understanding between East and West.
