Joseph L. Murray

Joseph E. Murray was an American plastic surgeon and transplantation pioneer best known for performing the first successful human kidney transplant in 1954. He later helped establish organ transplantation as a viable medical treatment and shared the 1990 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discoveries concerning organ and cell transplantation in human disease.[1][2][6][14]
