Joseph Joffo

Joseph Joffo was a French author and noted autobiographer best known for his memoir Un sac de billes (A Bag of Marbles), which recounts his childhood as a Jewish boy during the German Occupation and has been translated into eighteen languages[1][2]. Born in Paris in 1931, he worked as a hairdresser before turning to writing at age 42 after a skiing accident, eventually publishing sixteen books, mostly autobiographies[1][4]. He died on December 6, 2018, in Saint-Laurent-du-Var at the age of 87[1][10].
