Joseph Delaney
Joseph Henry Delaney (1945–2022) was an English author best known for his children's dark fantasy series The Spook's (also known as The Last Apprentice), inspired by Lancashire folklore, which sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide and was adapted into the film Seventh Son. Born in Preston, Lancashire, he worked as a teacher before achieving success with The Spook's Apprentice in 2004, following earlier adult novels under the pen name J.K. Haderack. He also wrote the science fiction trilogy Arena 13 and the dark fantasy duology Aberrations.
