Joseph C Blumenthal

Joseph Blumenthal (October 4, 1897 – July 11, 1990) was an American printer, printing historian, and type designer who founded the Spiral Press and became a prominent figure in the 20th-century fine-press movement. He designed and printed works for notable clients such as poet Robert Frost and received the American Institute of Graphic Arts medal for craftsmanship in printing in 1952. Blumenthal was also a self-taught historian of books and printing, writing both anecdotal and scholarly accounts of the book arts[3][8].
