Joseph Anthony
Anthony Joseph is a Trinidadian poet, novelist, musician, and academic who moved to the UK in 1989. Born in Port of Spain and raised in Mt Lambert, he is known for his innovative works blending Caribbean rhythms, jazz, and themes of Black futurism, exile, and slavery's legacy, including novels like The African Origins of UFOs and Kitch, and poetry collections such as Sonnets for Albert. He lectures in creative writing at institutions like Birkbeck College and performs with his band The Spasm Band.
