Joseph A. Fitzmyer

Joseph Augustine Fitzmyer, S.J. (1920–2016), was an American Jesuit priest and distinguished biblical scholar, especially known for his work on the New Testament. He also made significant contributions to the study of the Dead Sea Scrolls, early Jewish literature, and Catholic Scripture scholarship.
