Josemaría Escrivá

Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer (1902–1975) was a Spanish Catholic priest who founded Opus Dei, an organization dedicated to the principle of everyday holiness. His best-known work is *The Way*, a book of spirituality translated into 43 languages with nearly four million copies sold. He was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2002 after one of the fastest canonization processes in history.
