Jose Amaujaq Kusugak

Jose Amaujaq Kusugak was an Inuit politician, community leader, teacher, activist, linguist, and broadcaster from Nunavut. He served as president of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. from 1994 to 2000 and played an important role in the negotiations that helped lead to the creation of Nunavut in 1999.[2] His work also supported the preservation and promotion of Inuktitut and Inuit language and culture.[4]
